How can we measure risk?
This course enables local government leaders to define and determine cybersecurity risks in a multifaceted environment. This National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium (NCPC) training course is developed and delivered by Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI). NCPC courses are fully funded by DHS/FEMA and provided at no direct cost to participants.
By participating in this course, you will be exposed to complex analysis and decision-making related to risk. Explore the importance of critical thinking and how to apply it to combined cyber, physical, and informational problems. Gain an appreciation for a standardized terminology and be introduced to methods of measuring risk. This course will also introduce you to Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR) and other models to aid in analysis.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize methods for formalized decision-making processes
- Utilize a common language taxonomy for risk management
- Describe methods for calculating and measuring risk
NOTE: Attendees must bring a laptop or tablet. Smartphones will not suffice for this course.
This course is a joint offering between the League of Minnesota Cities, the Association of Minnesota Counties, and the Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust.
